Elise B. McLurkin Horton joined the law firm of Homesley, Jones, Gaines, Dudley, Childers, McLurkin, Donaldson & Johnson, PLLC, in 1997 following her graduation from Campbell University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree.  Mrs. Horton is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina (admitted 1997) and South Carolina (admitted1998).

Mrs. Horton is a native of South Carolina; however, she spent most of her childhood in Charlotte, North Carolina.  In 1992, Mrs. Horton received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, cum laude, from Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina.

Mrs. Horton primarily practices in the areas of civil litigation, probate, wills, commercial and residential real estate, corporate law, business transactions, social security disability, personal injury, contracts, and construction law.   Mrs. Horton is a member of the Iredell County and North Carolina State Bar Associations, South Carolina Bar and North Carolina State Bar.

Mrs. Horton serves as legal counsel for the Mooresville Graded School District.

Mrs. Horton is actively involved in her community.  She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Mooresville Foundation for Excellence in Education.  She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Mooresville/South Iredell United Way.  She is a past member of the Lowe’s YMCA Mooresville Regional Board, as well as the past legal counsel for the Lake Norman Home Builders’ Association. Mrs. Horton has also been a past deacon of the Mooresville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, and is a member of the Coddle Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
